History

The Past

When the Rhisians first arrived in Saint Morning over 1,000 years ago, it was a land covered in forests as far as the eye could see. Its unique landscape and environment made it an ideal place for newcomers to settle and begin a new life. Saint Morning was named after a priest named Alastaire Morning, who aided many during the Great Crossing between the Garden of Rhisis and the new world. Upon arrival, he founded the Holy Morning City, now known as Sain City. His teachings remain influential to this day. Some say that during harsh, cold winters, his spirit can still be seen wandering, guiding weary travelers back to shelter.
Several centuries after Priest Alastaire's death, the Darkonians began appearing in Sain City, bringing with them rough manners and a deep knowledge of weaponry. With this change, the Place of Teaching was transformed into a battle arena, where people came to test their skills. Displeased by the rise in barbarism, some citizens left Sain City in search of a new home, far from the sound of battle cries.
Their new settlement came to be known as Shadia, named after the nearby Hill of Shade. Unbeknownst to them, the land was cursed by the Goddess Shade herself. Ignorant of the danger and dismissing the warnings of the local natives, they built their town with hopes it would become just as grand as Sain City. The first few months passed peacefully, with a great harvest growing in the small farmlands beside their homes. To celebrate, the townspeople held a Great Festival.
However, the celebration was short-lived. As soon as the moon rose above the horizon, the townspeople began to mutate into monsters.
When the people of Sain City eventually traveled to Shadia to visit family and friends they had not heard from in weeks, they found only pumpkin-like monsters and the unfinished preparations of a festival that never concluded. The cursed settlement became known as Pumpkin Town, a name now used in horror stories to frighten young children.

Present Day

Today, Saint Morning is best known for its battle arena and warm hospitality. However, within the walls of Sain City, things are not as peaceful as they seem. A dark secret is being kept hidden by the Mayor. It involves young girls who were taken from their families and subjected to horrific experiments, ultimately transforming them into a creature known as Mia. If this truth were ever revealed, it could plunge the religious town into chaos.
Saint Morning is home to one of Madrigal's largest and oldest cities, Saint City. With a recorded history spanning over 1,000 years, it is located on the far eastern coast of the map and borders the Garden of Rhisis.
